Iconic singer Taylor Swift formally announced this week that she will be voting for Joe Biden, posting a tweet that featured Swift with a plate of Biden/Harris cookies.
In a Wednesday tweet teasing an upcoming feature with V Magazine, the singer also joked that she will be watching Democratic vice presidential nominee and “yelling at the TV a lot.”
She wrote, “I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting Kamala Harris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies.”

Taylor Swift was noticeably apolitical in the 2016 election, but she has begun making her opinions on politics known in recent months.
In late May, Swift accused President Donald Trump of “Stoking the fires of white supremacy and racism” and promised, “We will vote you out in November.”
The star, who has won ten Grammy Awards, endorsed two candidates ahead of the 2018 midterm elections in Tennessee, where she votes. At the time, she said, “I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now.”
Swift also urged for the Senate to take up the Equality Act, a bill aimed at granting equal rights to the LGBT community, which passed the House in 2019.
In a petition to draw attention to the bill, Swift wrote, “Our country’s lack of protection for its own citizens ensures that LGBTQ people must live in fear that their lives could be turned upside down by an employer or landlord who is homophobic or transphobic. The fact that, legally, some people are completely at the mercy of the hatred and bigotry of others is disgusting and unacceptable.”
