Former President Barack Obama is questioning why Americans would accept the “bizarre behavior” of his successor.
“We’ve gotten so numb to what is bizarre behavior,” Obama said during Tuesday’s drive-in rally for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in Florida. “We have a president right now who lies multiple times a day … And this is not my claim, even Fox News sometimes says, ‘Well what [President Donald Trump] said isn’t really true.”
He continued, “It’s not normal behavior. We wouldn’t tolerate it from a co-worker. We wouldn’t tolerate it from a football coach. We wouldn’t tolerate it from a high school principal. I mean, we might have to put up with it if it was a family member. But we’d talk about him afterward.”
“Even Florida man wouldn’t be doing some of this stuff. Why would we accept it from president of the United States?” he added.
Obama cautioned that “it’s almost too easy” to make fun of Trump’s behavior, “But, this is the most powerful office on earth. And when people see the president doing things like that, it emboldens other people to be mean, and cruel, and divisive, and racist. And it frays the fabric of our lives.”

Obama’s mention of “Florida man” refers to a meme that has been circulating on social media used to describe strange incidents involving a male resident of Florida.
The former president has been campaigning for Biden in the final stretch of the campaign, as IJR reported.
During a campaign stop in Philadelphia on Oct. 21, Obama argued Trump “hasn’t shown any interest in doing the work or helping anybody but himself and his friends, or treating the presidency like a reality show that he can use to get attention.”
“By the way even then his TV ratings are down. So you know that upsets him. But the thing is, this is not a reality show. This is reality,” he added.
Trump brushed off Obama’s criticism and claimed, “Obama is campaigning for us. Every time he speaks, people come over to our side. He didn’t even want to endorse Sleepy Joe. Did so long after primaries were over!”
