Joe Scarborough, the host of “Morning Joe,” is taking aim at the Biden administration over the migrant “crisis” at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The show showed a clip of White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki calling the situation at the southern border “not a crisis.”

In response to Psaki’s remarks from Monday’s press briefing, Scarborough noted that the administration’s messaging to unaccompanied migrant children is “if you cross the desert, you make a long and dangerous trip, we’re going to let you in.”

He declared that the Biden administration is “the one luring these children to the border with the promise of being able to get in.”

Scarborough then added, “As long as you have a permissive immigration policy, you’re going to have a crisis at the border.”

“And yes, we have United States Senators from Connecticut, Democrats, liberals, that are talking about tears in their eyes, when they look at the situation that these children are in. That’s a crisis! At the border!”

Reiterating that if the Biden administration continues to have a “permissive policy,” which is “dangerous for the children — because more children are going to keep coming — until you tell them, no, we’re not going to let them in.”

He acknowledged that the Biden administration has told migrants “don’t come,” but, “They’re still not saying we’re not going to let unaccompanied migrants in the United States.”

Later, Scarborough declared it is “not fair” to others and “not safe to the children” that the U.S. has “a policy that just allows people to come in illegally.”

Psaki argued during Monday’s press conference, “Children presenting at our border who are fleeing violence, who are fleeing prosecution, who are fleeing terrible situations, is not a crisis. We feel that it is our responsibility to humanely approach this circumstance and make sure they are treated with… treated and put in conditions that are safe.”

The message U.S. officials have been pushing to migrants seeking to cross the U.S.-Mexico border has been “do not come. The border is closed,” but reports have indicated the “reality on the ground is less clear,” Reuters reported.
