Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has a message for President Joe Biden.

Speaking to Axios’ Jonathan Swan on “Axios on HBO,” the Vermont senator declared, “I’m not going to get everything I want. Biden’s not going to get everything he wants.”

Talking about student debt, Swan said Sanders could potentially “make life more difficult” for Biden.

Swan also noted Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) previously said she would not support Biden’s nominees unless he appoints more Asian Americans.

Sanders, however, said that he and 49 other senators could then do that, but it would create “chaos.”

Watch the video below:

The full interview is scheduled to air on Sunday evening.

Last month, Sanders and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) introduced a bill, College for All Act, to “make the most substantial federal investment in higher education in the modern history of the United States,” per the press release on April 21.

“The College for All Act will end the debt spiral in which too many working families find themselves,” the press release continues.

The legislation would “guarantee tuition-free community college for all students, and allow students from families earning under $125,000 a year to attend public colleges and universities tuition-free and debt-free.” It also “makes an annual $10 billion federal investment to cover student support programs at these under-funded institutions,” among other aspects to the bill.

At the time, Sanders wrote in a statement, “In the wealthiest country in the history of the world, a higher education should be a right for all, not a privilege for the few. If we are going to have the kind of standard of living that the American people deserve, we need to have the best educated workforce in the world.”

There is a push by some to cancel student loan debt, and Biden is being faced with the pressure to do so.
