Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) is calling on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) to kick Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) out of the House Republican conference after she compared the House’s mask mandate to the Holocaust.

During an interview with Politico’s Playbook on Tuesday, Kinzinger said, “As a party, you can’t stop someone from calling themselves a Republican or declaring themselves a Republican. You know, getting on the ballot and winning.”

“But what we can do as a party is take a stand and say, ‘You don’t belong in our conference.’ That’s what I think we should do. I think we should kick her out of the conference. Prevent her from coming to conference meetings, benefiting from conference materials. And, I’m not sure if that will happen, but it’s just going to continue,” he added.

In an interview with Real America’s Voice on Friday, Greene compared the House’s mask mandate to the Holocaust, “You know, we can look back at a time in history when people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany.”

“And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about,” she added.”

McCarthy denounced her comments in a statement, “Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling.”

“Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language,” he added.

A spokesperson for House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) said, “Rep. Scalise does not agree with these comments and condemns these comparisons to the Holocaust.”

And Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), the No. 3 House Republican said, “Equating mask wearing and vaccines to the Holocaust belittles the most significant human atrocities ever committed. We must all work together to educate our fellow Americans on the unthinkable horrors of the Holocaust. #NeverAgain.”

In a series of tweets, Greene dismissed the comments from Republican leadership and instead blasted Democrats.

“The Democrats are the party of division, hate, critical race theory (pure racism), discrimination, totalitarianism, socialism, globalism, gender destruction, BDS, defunding our police, and ANTIFA / BLM terrorists,” she wrote, adding, “I’m sorry some of my words make people uncomfortable, but this is what the American left is all about.  And they are America last in every single way.”

Kinzinger previously said Greene is “not a Republican.”

“She may be like this new definition of Republican, but that’s kind of a RINO thing, a Republican in name only is what she is,” he added.

While Kinzinger thinks Greene should be kicked out of the conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has a different solution. She told reporters, “I think she should stop talking.”
