“The View” co-host Joy Behar is suggesting that protests outside of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s home could be “a good lesson.”
During a segment on Tuesday, guest Alyssa Farah Griffin reacted to the protests outside of the justices’ homes.
“On the issue of the Supreme Court, it’s enshrined in the first amendment you have the right to peaceably assemble. And that’s so far what we’re seeing outside of justices’ houses,” she said.
However, Griffin added, “I will say this, I think the more appropriate venue is the steps of the Supreme Court. I worry it could begin to look like intimidation at someone’s doorsteps.”
Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, “It’s so funny, so does what Alito wrote. Looks the same way to me.”
“[It] looks like intimidation. And yeah, it’s kind of the same thing,” she added.
Additionally, Behar chimed in, “But it also shows Alito what it feels like to lose your freedom of choice.”
“He cannot leave the house easily, so maybe that’s a good lesson for them,” she added.

Last week, Politico reported that a leaked draft opinion penned by Alito appears to show the court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade.
After the draft leaked, a group called “Ruth Sent Us” — which is named after the late-Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg — published the addresses of the six conservative justices on the court.
It called for people to protest the draft opinion outside of the justices’ homes.
Over the weekend, protesters gathered outside of the homes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The New York Post notes that it is not known if the justices or their families were home at the time of the protests.
And on Monday, roughly 100 demonstrators gathered outside of Alito’s home.
However, it was unclear if he was home during the demonstration.
