Hollywood stars Julia Roberts and George Clooney opened up about the 22-year-friendship.
The actress and actor met in 2000 before shooting the movie “Oceans Eleven” together in 2001.
In an exclusive interview with People on Tuesday, Clooney described the formation of their friendship saying, “This was just easy.”
Roberts said that when she met Clooney she realized that “he’s one of my people now.”
When it comes to making their friendship work, Clooney said that he and Roberts both “enjoy the same things.”
“We love the work, but we don’t make the work our entire life,” Clooney shared.
Roberts added, “We have a similar approach to life.”
“And a similar approach to work and that makes it really fun quite honestly,” Clooney added.
Clooney also shared that in regards to working together and spending time together “in normal life” is “very easy” for them.
Clooney revealed what he believes is “one of the many great qualities Julia has.”
“She is consistent in her loyalty and in her friendship and in her kindness,” he said.
Roberts spoke about being together as both of their lives expand “in these beautiful ways” and how “amazing” it is to see their families together.
She also shared the connection their families have with one another revealing that her daughter Hazel, 17, and Clooney’s wife, Amal, will spend time talking on the phone together “for an hour.”
Roberts has three children with her husband Danny Moder whom she married in 2002.
Clooney has two children with her wife Amal Clooney whom he married in 2014.
On October 10, Roberts spoke to the “Today” show about their families and being “stewards” and “shepherds” to their children.
“The truth is … no matter how old we are — George being the oldest of us — they have chosen us in this moment to be their stewards and their shepherds in this life experience. I met Danny when I was ready. You met Amal when you were ready. And then we call these children into our lives when we’re ready to best partner with them,” she said.
