“The View” co-host Joy Behar is suggesting President Joe Biden will get the benefit of the doubt about his handling of classified documents because he is not viewed as a liar.
During a segment of the show Tuesday, the panel weighed in on a report a U.S. attorney is reviewing approximately 10 classified documents found at an office used by Biden.
Behar sought to draw a comparison between former President Donald Trump taking classified documents to his Mar-a-Lago estate, and the documents from Biden’s time as vice president found in his office.
“There [are] differences in what happened,” Behar said. “We all know that Trump is a liar and a thief. We know that. So it’s not that big a jump to say that he obstructed and he lied.”
She continued, “We don’t think that Biden is a liar and a thief, so we give him the benefit of the doubt. That’s partly what’s going on.”
The co-host suggested Republican lawmakers will “spin this that it’s just as bad as Trump.”
“The lying has been so invasive, so ubiquitous that no one will believe the truth anymore. And you can put that at the feet of Donald Trump, who started the lying,” she added.

Biden’s lawyers reportedly contacted the National Archives on Nov. 2, 2022, after they discovered documents from his time as vice president in an office he used while he was an honorary professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
The documents were reportedly retrieved the following day.
The revelation comes months after the FBI raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate and recovered classified documents.
Trump reacted to the news on Truth Social as he wrote, “When is the FBI going to raid the many homes of Joe Biden, perhaps even the White House? These documents were definitely not declassified.”
He also suggested without evidence Chinese officials saw the documents in Biden’s office.
