Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin received a warm welcome back during the first rematch game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals following his cardiac arrest.

The Buffalo Bills posted a video via Twitter of Hamlin at Highmark Stadium watching the game in suite with his family. However, he did not go on the field, according to People.

Hamlin was also seen making a heart with his hands, from the suite, to his fans, as they cheered for him down below.

The stadium was filled with signs made by fans in support of Hamlin.

On Jan. 2, Hamlin collapsed on the ground during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

He was on the ground “for awhile” as CPR was administered to him by medical staff.

He was then put in an ambulance and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

In a statement by the Buffalo Bills on Twitter they confirmed that he had suffered a cardiac arrest.

“Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition,” the team wrote.

After his medical emergency, the game was postponed and the NFL Players Association posted a statement on Twitter and wrote they were praying for him.

“The NFLPA and everyone in our community is praying for Damar Hamlin. We have been in touch with Bills and Bengals players, and with the NFL. The only thing that matters at this moment is Damar’s health and well being,” the Association wrote.

Hamlin was released from the hospital on Jan. 9, but according to close friend and business partner, Jordan Rooney, “Despite being out of the hospital, Damar still has a lengthy recovery,” per ESPN.

Hamlin still needs oxygen and has his heart monitored regularly.

“He’s upbeat and positive and ready to continue to overcome this,” Rooney added.
