Failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s appreciation of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) appears to be fading fast.

On Thursday night, Lake shared a story from the conservative website The Gateway Pundit about DeSantis titled, “The Kiss of Death – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Endorsed by George Soros.”

The article claimed billionaire George Soros endorsed DeSantis — which is simply not true.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference on Thursday, he said, “My hope for 2024 is that Trump and Gov. DeSantis of Florida will slug it out for the Republican nomination.”

“Trump has turned into a pitiful figure, continually bemoaning his loss in 2020. Big Republican donors are abandoning him in droves,” he continued.

Finally, Soros called DeSantis “shrewd, ruthless and ambitious,” and predicted he would be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee. He also shared he hopes former President Donald Trump would be so offended by losing the primary to DeSantis he would try to run a third-party campaign and hand Democrats a landslide victory.

However, he did not endorse the Florida governor — who has not even entered the race.

Lake has been an ardent supporter and fan of Trump.

Yet during her failed run for governor, she accepted pretty much all the help she could get — including holding a rally with DeSantis.

During a rally in August, she said, “Love the guy. Fantastic… That guy has a backbone made of steel. I’ll tell you what he’s got. I don’t know if you’ve heard of this, but he’s got BDE. Anybody know what that means? Ask your kids about it later.”

“I call it ‘Big DeSantis Energy.’ Right? He’s got the same kind of BDE that President Trump has,” she continued. “He has the same kind of BDE that we want all of our elected leaders to have.”

Uh-oh! Twitter is on fire because I said President Trump & Gov @RonDeSantisFL both have “BDE”

She then praised DeSantis for showing America “what it means to have a governor who’s a fighter, who will defend our freedom, and not sell us out.”

“Thank you, Gov. DeSantis for that,” she added.

Those were some nice words about the Florida governor. He was a fighter, a defender of freedom, and not a sell-out. But now that he has committed the ultimate and unforgivable sin of not ruling out running against Trump in the primary, DeSantis is apparently a globalist shill who has the support of one of the biggest enemies of conservatives.

What a change in just a couple of months — except it is just premised on legitimately fake news.
