Former President Donald Trump is sharing details about how he says employees at the courthouse where he was arraigned reacted during his appearance.

In an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, Trump said, “I’ll tell you people were crying. People that work there… that have no problem putting in murderers and they see everybody — it’s a tough place.”

“And they were crying, they were actually crying. They said, ‘I’m sorry.’ They’d say, ‘2024, sir, 2024,” he continued.

Trump went on:

“And tears are pouring down their eyes. I’ve never seen anything like it. Those people are phenomenal. Those are your police. Those are the people that work at the courthouse. They’re unbelievable people. Many of them were in tears or close to it. Many apologized.”

He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In a post on his Truth Social after the arraignment, the former president said, “The GREAT PATRIOTS inside and outside of the Courthouse on Tuesday were unbelievably nice, in fact, they couldn’t have been nicer.”

“Court attendants, Police Officers, and others were all very professional, and represented New York City sooo well. Thank you to all!” he added.

In a speech after the arraignment, Trump took aim at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg as he said, “I never thought anything like this could happen in America… the only crime that I have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it.”

He went on:

“From the beginning, the Democrats spied on my campaign, remember that? They attacked me with an onslaught of fraudulent investigations. Russia, Russia, Russa. Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine. Impeachment hoax No. 1. Impeachment hoax No. 2. The illegal and unconstitutional raid on Mar-a-Lago.”

Finally, Trump claimed, “Our justice system has become lawless. They’re using it now — in addition to everything else — to win elections… they came up with a new one… they’re looking at me through the Espionage Act… of 1917 where the penalty is death.”

He also suggested Bragg “is the criminal” and should be “prosecuted, or at a minimum, he should resign.”
