Twitter users are lambasting a story about a transgender woman who was cleared of indecent exposure charges.

On Sunday, a conservative Twitter user with the username ALX shared a screen shot of a story from The Daily Mail.

He wrote, “2023 in a headline.”

The headline read, “Trans woman is cleared of flashing her penis at three women using Ohio YMCA after judge ruled she’s too FAT for her genitals to be visible.”

Conservatives ridiculed the story on Twitter:

That could be a Babylon Bee headline.

Theater of the absurd. . . Which is where you ultimately end up when you have no standards by which to say something is right or wrong, good or evil. You end up precisely at this point where what is is right. https://t.co/CGGOcbRe4I

WHIO reported on May 1 that Xenia Municipal Court Judge David McNamee found Darren Glines — who identifies as a woman — was not guilty of three counts of indecent exposure.

The ruling stems from a 2021 complaint at a YMCA in Xenia, Ohio. Three people complained of “seeing a naked male in the female’s locker room.”

Glines, who now goes by Rachel, has not undergone gender reassignment surgery.

The Daily Mail reports, “Glines’ lawyers, Lauren and Keara Dever, both argued that she was so fat that her gut would obscure her genitalia.”

In his decision, McNamee said, “There is no question that Glines was in the women’s locker room. However, Glines was not charged with trespass, nor was Glines charged with being in an area of the YMCA where Glines was not supposed to be.”

“Quite simply, the facts do not exist to support a find of guilt, as charges. Glines’ genitalia was not visible as a result of other portions of her body covering same,” he added.
