The son of former Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis has died.

On Thursday, Rahsaan Lewis, the younger brother of Ray Lewis III, shared the news on his Instagram story.

“Really can’t believe I’m even typing this but RIP big brother,” he wrote, per Fox News. “A true angel I pray your (sic) at peace now because (I know) how much you was (really) hurtin (sic) I don’t and won’t ever have the words man cuz (sic) this pain right there.… I love you I love you I love you.”

Rahsaan Lewis added, “Your niece gone (sic) miss you but she will hear about u (sic) over and over just watch over us all big bruh be our guardian I promise I’ll make you smile and proud.”

Diaymon Lewis also paid tribute to her brother on her Instagram story.

“Brownie, I love [you] with all of my heart,” she wrote, per Fox News. “You will always be my first love and truly are the definition of a quintessential brother.”

She referred to Ray Lewis III as “the most genuine and talented person” she knew.

“Go get your rest baby and I’m glad you’re at peace. Fly high baby,” she concluded.

His cause of death has not been released. He was 28 years old.

According to EPSN, he played college football at Miami like his father. The younger Lewis was a running back in his home state of Florida and later played cornerback at Coastal Carolina and Division II Virginia Union.

Virginia Union Associate Head Coach Diego Ryland spoke to TMZ Sports about Ray Lewis III’s passing which he said was “very unfortunate.”

“Great young man and a better teammate. The entire Virginia Union University community is praying for the family as they deal with the loss of Ray,” he added.

According to the outlet, Ray Lewis III was also “pursuing a career in the music industry.”
