White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre insists there has been no change to the answer of whether President Joe Biden was involved in or had knowledge of his son’s business dealings.
Joe Biden has stated he never spoke to his son, Hunter Biden, about his foreign business dealings. But Jean-Pierre kicked off speculation there was a change to the story on Monday after she said the president was “never in business with his son.”
And on Wednesday, a reporter noted the speculation about whether there was a change.
“Why the updated language? Which statement is true? Or is this semantics and they’re both true?” he asked.
Jean-Pierre responded, “Nothing has changed. Nothing has changed on this.”
“You could ask me a million different ways on this question, nothing has changed,” she added.

During a press briefing on Monday, Fox News’ Gillian Turner noted House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said his committee “has evidence that the president in the past communicated directly with foreign business associates of his son Hunter Biden many times.”
“Curious if the White House and the president still stand behind his comment that he’s never been involved and has never even spoken to his son about his business?” she asked.

Jean-Pierre responded, “So, I’ve been I’ve been asked this question a million times. The answer is not going to change. The answer remains the same.”
“The president was never in business with his son. I just don’t have anything else to add,” she stated.
