Things got a little chaotic in the House of Representatives.

On Thursday, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) was speaking in support of the Republicans’ appropriation bill.

As he yielded his time, Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.), a member of the so-called “Squad,” shouted, “Your bills are racist!”

The incident led Republicans to boo Bush.

Meanwhile, one lawmaker said, “Mr. Speaker, the House is not in order!”

Bush later added, “I said what I said!”

The bill came as the House was expected to adjourn for its August recess early.

Lawmakers are facing a September deadline to pass their annual budget.

After they return from their recess in September, lawmakers will have 18 days to pass a budget an avoided a government shutdown.

House Republicans were hoping to pass two other spending bills before their break.

However, the Examiner noted, lawmakers chose to recess early due to intraparty disagreements over the spending bills.
