Former President Donald Trump is sharing whether he would end his campaign if he was convicted and sentenced.

During an interview on “The John Fredericks Show,” Trump was asked, “If going forward, right, you get these indictments… you get a jury in D.C., you get convicted and sentenced, does that stop your campaign for president?”

“Not at all, there’s nothing in the Constitution to say that it could… and even the radical Left crazies are saying no that wouldn’t stop [it], and it wouldn’t stop me either,” he responded.

He added, “These people are sick. What they’re doing is absolutely horrible. Look at Hillary Clinton, look at what these other people got away with.”

Trump appears to be correct in his claim the Constitution would not prevent him from continuing his campaign if he is convicted.

Politico noted, “There are no legal obstacles to running for president as a convicted felon or even from behind bars. And if Trump finds himself in that predicament, he’ll be following in the footsteps of another rabble-rousing populist and frequent presidential candidate: the avowed socialist Eugene V. Debs, who received nearly a million votes while in prison a century ago.”

On Thursday, Special Counsel Jack Smith announced new charges related to allegations Trump mishandled classified documents. The new filing accuses the former president of trying to delete security camera footage.

Trump was already facing 37 charges stemming from Smith’s investigation.

There is speculation he could be indicted on charges stemming from the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. Additionally, he is facing criminal charges in New York for allegedly falsifying business records.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Trump reacted to the new charges as he said, “It’s election interference at the highest level.”

“They’re harassing my company, they’re harassing my family and by far, least importantly of all, they’re harassing me,” he continued.

He added, “If I weren’t leading Biden by a lot in numerous polls, and wasn’t going to be the Republican nominee, it wouldn’t be happening. It wouldn’t be happening… But I am way up as a Republican and way up in the general election and this is what you get.”
