A U.S. Army veteran criticized the Biden Administration over additional funding being sent to help aid Ukraine in its war against Russia.

Sam Brown, a 2024 Republican candidate for the Nevada Senate race, issued a statement in which he called for more accountability and transparency from the current administration and called for the Senate to “step up and start demanding answers,” according to Fox News.

Brown’s statement comes days after President Joe Biden issued a request for more funding to be sent to Ukraine.

“We need a plan right now. No more blank checks. Jacky Rosen has failed to hold the administration accountable, but I won’t,” Brown said, taking aim at Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), who he is seeking to unseat.

Brown added the “U.S. Senate needs to step up and start demanding answers,” adding that Rosen was “toeing the party line and remaining silent while Joe Biden attempts to raid the U.S. treasury again for billions of dollars with no strings attached.”

Should the U.S. send more funding to Ukraine?

Nevadans deserve a servant leader in the United States Senate.

That’s why I entered this race — to finally put Nevada values over DC values.

On Thursday, Biden sent a request to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for the approval of $24 billion to be sent to Ukraine. The amount would be split, with $13 billion going to defense-related spending, and $11 billion going towards economic and humanitarian aid.

“The world has been pulled into this war because Russia sensed weakness from the Biden administration after its disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal,” Brown said in his statement. “For a year and a half, Biden has demanded a blank check from the American taxpayer with zero accountability on how it’s spent and seemingly no plan on how to end this war.”

Brown added that even “Biden’s own generals” have told him the war between Ukraine and Russia “appears to be unwinnable.”
