U.S. climate envoy John Kerry is taking aim at those who do not believe in climate change.
During an event in Scotland, Kerry said, “They flatly deny what is happening to our planet, and what we must do to save it.”
“They incite a movement against what they falsely label climate change fanaticism, as they conveniently forget that the dictionary definition of a cult is the dismissal of facts in devotion to a lie,” he continued.
He went on to criticize those who call comments about climate change “hysteria.”

Finally, Kerry said, “So now, humanity is inexorably threatened by humanity itself.”
“By those seducing people into buying into a completely fictitious, alternative reality where we don’t need to act and we don’t even need to care,” he added.
During the first Republican presidential debate on Wednesday, the issue of climate change came up.
One candidate received attention after he called it a “hoax.”
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy said, “The climate change agenda is a hoax.”
“The reality is more people are dying of bad climate change policies than they are of actual climate change,” he added.

However, in March 2023, Ramaswamy told CBS News, “Climate change is also real, by the way.”
“I’m not denying the underlying reality that global surface temperatures are going up, and in part due to human activity,” he added.
