The rock band Aerosmith announced it would be postponing upcoming shows in its tour after lead singer Steven Tyler suffered an injury.

Aerosmith explained in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that several dates in their “Peace Out” farewell tour have been rescheduled after Tyler suffered “vocal cord damage” and received orders from the doctor to not sing for 30 days.

“I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days,” Tyler said in the statement. “I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding.”

“We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve,” Tyler added in his statement.

Dates that had been scheduled to take place this month were rescheduled to take place between January and February 2024.

Aerosmith will be playing in Detroit, Michigan, on Jan. 29, Chicago, Illinois, on Feb. 14, Washington, D.C., on Feb. 17, Toronto, Ontario, on Feb. 21, Raleigh, North Carolina, on Feb. 26, and Cleveland, Ohio, on Feb. 29.

“All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates,” the band said in its post. “Refunds will be available for those unable to attend.”

In May, the band announced its farewell tour, which began in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the beginning of September.
