Tex-Mex fast food chain restaurant Taco Bell is expected to release its “first ever” vegan nacho sauce option for a limited time.
On Sept. 28, Taco Bell announced its upcoming release of the vegan nacho sauce accompanied by its nacho fries on Oct. 12.
“The moment you’ve been waiting for is here: Nacho Fries are back*, and this time, with a craveable twist that is sure to excite fans far and wide. Taco Bell is thrilled to announce the arrival of Nacho Fries with Vegan Nacho Sauce, a milestone in making classic Taco Bell flavors and menu items accessible to more fans than ever before,” the press release reads.
According to the “Today” show, the new item was confirmed to be vegan by the American Vegetarian Association. It will come in the following sizes — regular for $2.19 and large, which is also a new option on the menu, for $2.99.

“We’re thrilled to reintroduce Nacho Fries, now with a larger-than-life flair, and our beloved Vegan Nacho Sauce,” Liz Matthews, Global Chief Food Innovation officer at Taco Bell, said in a statement. “This sauce, born from the success of our Vegan Crunchwrap, represents Taco Bell’s commitment to providing delicious, craveable food for a variety of lifestyles – whether you’re vegan, flexitarian, or want to try something new, there’s a place for you at our table.“
In June, CNBC reported that Taco Bell was offering a new vegan crunchwrap to customers in Los Angeles, New York, and Orlando.
“Such a large part of our fandom is vegan or vegetarian, and we’re as committed to them as they are to us and our menu,” Matthews said in a press release. “That’s why we took so long, months and years, to release something this special; we wanted and needed to get it exactly right, to get it mouth-watering.”
