A Maryland mother’s TikTok post has gone viral after she shared her story about a pregnancy center counselor who helped her choose life when she became pregnant from rape.

"My child was not my problem. She became my purpose." Angela contrasts the compassionate guidance of a pregnancy help center with the pressure from Planned Parenthood. Her journey from fear to joy is a testament to the power of support and understanding. https://t.co/7FycOEfAkC

According to Fox News, Angela Harders is a homeschooling advocate, author, and co-founder of PAX Ministries. She was raised in a Christian household that valued life.

Harders had never dated before. She was a virgin when she was impregnated by her attacker, an experience that left her feeling hopeless.

She said, “Even though I was pro-life, my gut reaction was to schedule an appointment at Planned Parenthood for that Friday afternoon.”

The Planned Parenthood worker she spoke with used her faith as a tactic to encourage abortion. Harder recalled, “She said ‘Angela, you know that if you go through with [the pregnancy], you will never be able to travel again, or be a missionary, or do any of those other things that you said you wanted to do. We can take care of this problem for you so you can live your life and fulfill all the dreams that God has given you.’”

Two days before her abortion appointment, Harders called a pregnancy crisis center. She called out-of-state, fearing that someone local would recognize her voice.

Harders said that the woman on the other line gave her as much time as she needed to express her emotions, “She let me cry, and she just said, ‘Oh, honey, I’m here with you on the phone whenever you’re ready.”

Once Harders was able to explain what happened and all the pain she was experiencing, she stated the counselor comforted her. “She said to me, ‘Sex doesn’t make babies, God does.'”

The counselor then added, “And for some reason, God is choosing to give you a life out of this terrible circumstance.”

Harders explained, “With the first call that I had [with the crisis pregnancy center], I hung up the phone feeling hopeful, empowered.”

She said that is gave her an “overwhelming sense of peace.”

In her viral post, Harders concluded, “And because I canceled that appointment, nine years ago today, not only am I still able to travel the world and do all the things that the lady at Planned Parenthood said I would never be able to do — now I get to do it with the most incredible human being that I’ve ever known.”

“My daughter is no problem,” she added. “She is the greatest joy of my life, and I will forever be grateful to the stranger on the other end of the line from a random pregnancy center in New York, who told me I could do it.”
