Lauren Sánchez, the fiance of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, opened up about their upcoming nuptials.
In an interview with Vogue published on Nov. 13, Sánchez, 53, revealed whether Bezos, 59, would take part in the wedding planning.
“Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?” she said.
Sánchez continued:
“We’re still thinking about the wedding. What it’s going to be. Is it going to be big? Is it going to be overseas? We don’t know yet. We’ve only been engaged five months!”
The former news anchor also shared her reaction to Bezos’ proposal.
“When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit,” she recalled.
When asked whether she would be taking his last name, Sánchez replied, “Uh, yes, 100%. I am looking forward to being Mrs. Bezos.”

Furthermore, she gave insight into what it’s like being engaged to “one of the richest men in the world” with Bezos having a net worth of $161.3 billion, according to Forbes.
“I think there are a lot of opportunities that come with that, and I take those opportunities very seriously. We always look at each other and go, ‘We’re the team.’ So everything’s shared,” she said.
In the interview, Bezos, who has been in a relationship with Sánchez since around 2019, gushed over her.
“Lauren has amazing intuition, almost witchy powers in that regard. She sees things that other people don’t see. She’s really very sensitive to other people and what they’re thinking,” he said.
He also credited her for helping him “put more energy” into his relationships.
“She’s always encouraging me: ‘Call your kids. Call your dad. Call your mom,'” he explained.
Additionally, Bezos called her “a very good role model.”
“She keeps in touch with people. I’ve never seen her put makeup on without calling somebody. Usually her sister,” he continued.
Sánchez shared what she loved about her future husband.
“He’s the life of the party. He’s just extremely enthusiastic, and extremely funny,” she stated.
Sánchez added, “He can be really goofy. I mean, you’ve heard him laugh, right?”
