KJP Insists It Will ‘Take a Little Bit of Time’ for People to ‘Feel’ What ‘Bidenomics’ Has ‘Been Able to Do’

As President Joe Biden enters the final year of his first term, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre insists it will still take some time for people to feel the benefits of his economic policies.

During an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Tuesday, Jean-Pierre was asked to explain why groups of voters who previously supported Biden appear to be exploring other options ahead of the 2024 election.

“I’m going to be super mindful of 2024 as we’re into an election year,” she responded. “We understand what the American people went through these last three years, right? We came out of a pandemic — a pandemic that we haven’t seen in a hundred years. And when the president walked in, the economy was upside down.”

Jean-Pierre added:

“And so we get it. We get that it’s gonna take a little bit of time for folks to feel what the ‘Bidenomics’ has been able to do. That’s not something that I’m saying, that’s something economists have said.”

While Biden aims to win re-election this year, polls show voters are not happy with his job performance.

According to RealClearPolitics’ average of polls, 40.4% of Americans approve of his job performance while 56.1% say the opposite.

The poor view of Biden comes after inflation soared to 9.1% in 2022.

In November 2023, the pace of inflation slowed to 3.1% — which is still above the Federal Reserve’s target rate of 2%.

Members of the president’s staff have sought to tout his economic policies by talking about “Bidenomics.”

However, despite the slower pace of price increases and with the supply chain seeming to be back on track, polls show Americans trust former President Donald Trump to handle the economy more than Biden.
