According to the resolution, this move is due to Hunter Biden’s “failure to comply with a congressional subpoena.”
The full accusation noted, “On December 13, 2023, Robert Hunter Biden failed to comply with deposition subpoenas issued by the Committees on Oversight and Accountability and the Judiciary for testimony relevant to the House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry and the Committees’ oversight investigations.”
“Instead, Mr. Biden opted to read a short, prepared statement in front of the Capitol. Accordingly, Mr. Biden has violated federal law, and must be held in contempt of Congress,” the resolution added.
The document also noted Hunter’s testimony is considered “critical” to the Biden impeachment inquiry, as well as the legislative process of ensuring transparency for the American people.
If the resolutions pass the committees, the full House may vote on them. The House can then refer the recommendation to the Justice Department, which would decide whether the president’s son should be criminally charged, NBC News reported.
On Friday, Comer pledged to introduce the resolution, posting on X, formerly Twitter, “The President’s son doesn’t get special treatment.”

In August, RSBN reported that new evidence linked Joe Biden to his son’s questionable business dealings.
The House Oversight Committee also released a timeline of “The Bidens’ Influence Peddling” which displays years of global business operations that have brought in millions of dollars to the Biden family.
The House Oversight Committee is currently investigating the legality of Biden’s activities during his vice presidency and beyond and has accused him of being “compromised” through his actions with “foreign actors.”
