Actor Henry Winkler opened up about the 50th anniversary of the hit sitcom “Happy Days.”

Winkler, who played the character of Arthur Herbert “The Fonz” Fonzarelli in the 1974 show, spoke to Fox News Digital about the show’s milestone at the Critics Choice Awards Sunday night. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for the comedy-drama series “Barry.”

“50 years? Where’s my walker?” he joked.

Winkler added, “You know, it’s amazing I’m still standing, but I’m here, and I’m grateful.”

Furthermore, he shared his fondest memories of starring in the show.

“The first day to the last day, what a wonderful experience that was,” he shared.

He also spoke about remaining close to former co-star Ron Howard, 69, who played Richie Cunningham on the show.

“I was very aware never to be less than respectful to him,” Winkler, 78, told Fox News Digital.

He added, “I just spoke to Ron [Howard], who’s making a movie in Australia, yesterday, we are as tight as a family.”

In a previous interview with Fox News Digital, the Emmy Award winner revealed what it was like to work with Howard.

“I learned a lot from Ron. He was completely grounded by his parents, who never allowed any bad behavior. He was being a professional,” he recalled.

Winkler continued, “This was his job, and I learned from watching him. I’m older — 10 years older — so I had the experience of theater and commercials on the East Coast on how to be a professional. I never doubted my responsibility for what I had to do, but I still had a lot to learn.”

According to Britannica, “Happy Day,” created by screenwriter Gary Marshall, ran for 11 seasons, premiering on Jan. 15, 1974, to Sept. 24, 1984. In its third season, the series received the number one Nielsen rating.
