Former President Donald Trump is revealing there are some people who have been ruled out as candidates to be his running mate.

In an interview with Newsmax, journalist Greg Kelly asked the presumptive Republican, “Vice president? Are you any closer? Have you ruled anybody out?”

“Yeah, I, probably have a couple people that you may know very well,” Trump responded.

He added:

“Some people that I don’t think behaved properly. Yeah, I think I’ve ruled some people out, but I’ve ruled a lot of people in… But certainly I have people that I wouldn’t want.”

The interview comes after Trump clinched the Republican presidential primary.

There has been a lot of speculation about who might be on the list as a potential running mate.

Axios notes some of the names that have been suggested include Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), former 2024 presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arizona Gubernatorial hopeful Kari Lake, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), and Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.)

The article also included former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who was the last candidate to drop out of the race for the Republican nomination and declined to endorse Trump.

Not included in the list is Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R). However, insisted that is not a role he is interested in, telling reporters, “People were mentioning me [as his vice president]. I’m not doing that.”
