Scott Swift will not face charges after an altercation in Sydney, Australia, where his daughter was touring.

Scott Swift allegedly punched a photographer who was attempting to get a photo of his daughter, famed singer Taylor Swift, last month.

“Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command have conducted an investigation following a report of an assault at Neutral Bay Wharf about 2:30 AM on Tuesday 27 February 2024,” New South Wales Police confirmed to The Los Angeles Times on Wednesday.

“No further police action will be taken in relation to this matter,” the spokesperson said.

According to the L.A. Times, police were informed that a 71-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 51-year-old man at the wharf.

“The 71-year-old man was Scott Swift, affectionately dubbed ‘Papa Swift’ by the pop star’s legion of fans, and the 51-year-old was photographer Ben McDonald, who told police he was punched in the face by Swift’s father at the Neutral Bay Wharf,” the L.A. Times reported. “McDonald accused the superstar’s entourage of being ‘aggressive and unprofessional.’”

“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water,” a spokesperson for Swift said at the time.

The incident took place after Swift, 34, performed four back-to-back concerts in Sydney and three shows in Melbourne earlier that month.
