Former United Nations Ambassador and 2024 Republican presidential hopeful Nikki Haley is making it clear who she will vote for in the general election.

During an event at the Hudson Institute, Haley said, “As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border no more excuses, a president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands we need less debt not more debt.”

She noted former President Donald Trump has “not been perfect on these policies.”

However, she added President Joe Biden “has been a catastrophe.”

“So, I will be voting for Trump,” Haley explained. “Having said that, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech. Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that.”

In March, Haley ended her campaign for the nomination but declined to endorse Trump.

“It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those in our party and beyond it who did not support him,” she said, adding, “And I hope he does that. At our best, politics is about bringing people into your cause, not turning them away, and our conservative cause badly needs more people.”

After her announcement, the former president wrote on Truth Social, “Haley got TROUNCED last night, in record setting fashion.”

Still, Trump said he would “like to invite all of the Haley supporters to join” in supporting him.
