‘The View’ Blasts Nikki Haley for Saying She Will Vote for Trump

WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 22: Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley announced that she would vote for former President Donald Trump during an event at the Hudson Institute on May 22, 2024 in Washington, DC. The co-hosts of ABC’s “The View” are not happy with former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley for announcing that she will vote for former President Donald Trump.

During a segment on Thursday, the panelists discussed Haley’s decision and accused her of flip-flopping.

Conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said she was “disappointed but not surprised,” and claimed supporters of the former ambassador feel “betrayed” because, “[She] told us why we should be fearful of him and now you flipped on it.”

She also suggested Haley voters will not vote for Trump just because of her decision.

“This is political expediency, it’s pathetic, it’s cowardly,” Griffin continued. “And she did not help Donald Trump, but she damaged herself irreparably.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, “It just seems like you know people have like ten lives and in politics, especially in the Republican Party… I’ve always said she was a flip-flopper. She couldn’t be trusted. And I think this is about her future in politics with the Republican Party that is really the Trump Party. She was never an earnest politician. If one exists. I think Barack Obama was an earnest politician. I think we did have have some in the White House. But, you know, I’m not surprised. I called it as you know it.”

Meanwhile, co-host Sara Haines said she was not “fully surprised” by Haley’s decision, which she claimed was “such a bad miscalculation.”

“She should have owned that lane and stayed true to it, because I think she just buried herself for the future on this because there’s no credibility. She lacked it and she flip-flopped a lot, but she really could have had a moment with how she pulled through on those primaries,” Haines added.

During an event at the Hudson Institute, Haley said, “As a voter, I put my priorities on a president who’s going to have the backs of our allies and hold our enemies to account, who would secure the border no more excuses, a president who would support capitalism and freedom, a president who understands we need less debt not more debt.”

She noted former President Donald Trump has “not been perfect on these policies.”

However, she added President Joe Biden “has been a catastrophe.”

“So, I will be voting for Trump,” Haley explained. “Having said that, I stand by what I said in my suspension speech. Trump would be smart to reach out to the millions of people who voted for me and continue to support me, and not assume that they’re just going to be with him. And I genuinely hope he does that.”
