Former President Donald Trump is not backing down after his guilty conviction.

Trump spoke to “Fox & Friends Weekend” following his verdict, where he said, “These are bad people. These people are sick, and they do things that are so destructive… if it weren’t me, they’d be going after somebody else, and I know a lot of the competition. They wouldn’t do so well.”

“My revenge will be success,” he added.

During the interview, Trump also said he is OK with being sentenced to house arrest or jail.

Watch the interview below:

The jury in Trump’s hush money trial found the former president’s guilty on all 34 counts in the case on Thursday, as IJR reported on. The trial involved allegations for falsifying business records in New York.

The verdict marked the first time a U.S. president has ever been tried and convicted of a crime.

Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse on Thursday, Trump said, “This is a rigged disgraceful trial. The real verdict is going to be November 5th by the people.”

He added: “We didn’t do a thing wrong. I’m a very innocent man. It’s okay. I’m fighting for our country, I’m fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now. This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt a political opponent.”

Trump also said at the time:

“We’ll keep fighting. We’ll fight to the end and we’ll win. Because our country has gone to hell. We don’t have the same country anymore.”

Support for Trump rolled in after the verdict, as his campaign raked in nearly $35 million, his campaign shared.

“President Trump and our campaign are immensely grateful from this outpouring of support from patriots across our country,” Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, senior advisers to the Trump campaign, said, adding, “President Trump is fighting to save our nation and November 5th is the day Americans will deliver the real verdict.”

Later, Trump said his campaign raised $39 million.

“So far, I guess it’s backfired,” he said.

The presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee also vowed to appeal the verdict.
