Reality star Savannah Chrisley got a dose of reality when she was left to care for her siblings when her parents reported to prison.

Chrisley, 26, talked about her experience on the July 16 episode of her

“Unlocked” podcast, People reported.

The “Chrisley Knows Best” star opened up about the day her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, became her responsibility after her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley left for prison in January 2023 for bank and wire fraud.

Savannah immediately felt she was in over her head to be tasked with caring for Grayson, 17, and Chloe, 11.

“I will never forget. It was right when my parents left,” she said. “We didn’t touch anything in my parents’ house till after they left so I moved all the kids’ stuff over to my house. Chloe’s room is like a disaster because we’re just trying to move everything in, and I had to find them clothes to go and visit [Todd and Julie] that weekend, and I just broke down.”

“[I] fell to the floor in her room and I just started crying. And I was like, I am not my mom. Like, I don’t know how I’m gonna do this,” she said.

Her can-do attitude pulled her through.

“That’s strength. I look back and I’m like, holy shoot,” she said. “Like, going from no kids to a….I don’t wish this on anyone — a pre-teen girl?”

Chloe is the biological daughter of Savannah and Grayson’s eldest brother Kyle Chrisley. Todd, 55, and Julie, 51, legally adopted her in 2017.

A grand jury indicted the couple for tax evasion, conspiracy and bank and wire fraud. The tax evasion charge was dropped, but the, along with their accountant, were found guilty of the other charges.

A judge vacated Julie’s seven-year prison sentence on June 21.

The judge said the case lacked sufficient evidence. Todd’s conviction was upheld.

Savannah talked earlier this month about how her mother would be after her release.

This includes possibly grappling with PTSD and all she endured while in prison.

“It’s just gonna be a lot to be reintegrated back into things when you live literally in the same freaking room, 24 hours a day, freaking 365 days a year,” she said. “It’s gonna be tough for her. So that does worry me, but at the same time, we all know we can do it.”
