Some are calling for evidence of “proof of life” after President Joe Biden announced he would not be seeking re-election through a post on X.
Former White House press secretary Dana Perino chimed in, “They didn’t even release a White House still photograph… nothing!”
“I hope he’s fine, you can forgive people for wondering if we are really living Weekend at Bernie’s right now. Like, proof of life, please,” she continued. “He’s obviously unwell… We want him to be a person that can stand on his own two feet and look the American people in the eye and explain why he’s leaving.”

Perino went on:
“Without that, imagine what your allies, your enemies, your military, your voters are all sitting there going, ‘Wait, why are you withdrawing? Is it because of health? And if so, please let us know so we can pray for you. Is it because you were afraid you were going to lose?”
In a post on X, Biden wrote, “In a post on X, Biden wrote, “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
He shared he is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to be the new nominee.
“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” he added.
However, he did not release a video statement about his decision as of Monday morning.
