White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is scoffing at the notion President Joe Biden should resign after ending his re-election campaign.
Jean-Pierre appeared on ABC’s “The View” Tuesday, when co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) questioned whether the president can serve out the rest of his term if he cannot run for another four years.
The press secretary responded, “I think that’s ridiculous.”
“But, what I will say is the president decided not to run for re-election, that’s it. That’s all he decided on,” she continued.

In a post on X on Sunday, Biden wrote, “In a post on X, Biden wrote, “My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
He shared he is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris to be the new nominee.
“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” he added.
However, some conservatives have suggested he should resign as president if he is not running for another for years.
