Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is insisting President Joe Biden belongs on Mount Rushmore.

Speaking to CBS News’ Leslie Stahl, Pelosi said Biden is “such a consequential President of the United States, a Mount Rushmore kind of President of the United States.”

Stahl asked, “Are you really saying that he belongs up there on Mt. Rushmore? Lincoln and Joe Biden?”

Pelosi answered, “But, you got Teddy Roosevelt up there, and he’s wonderful. I don’t say take him down, but you can add Biden.”

I kid you not.

The moment comes after Pelosi was reportedly influential in convincing Biden to end his re-election bid.

Days before the 46th president announced he would not continue to seek another term in the White House, CNN reported Pelosi “privately told President Joe Biden in a recent conversation that polling shows that the president cannot defeat Donald Trump and that Biden could destroy Democrats’ chances of winning the House in November if he continues seeking a second term, according to four sources briefed on the call.”

“The president responded by pushing back, telling Pelosi he has seen polls that indicate he can win, one source said. Another one of the sources described Biden as getting defensive about the polls. At one point, Pelosi asked Mike Donilon, Biden’s longtime adviser, to get on the line to talk over the data,” the article continued.

Still, the outlet reported that sources familiar with the call did not say whether Pelosi told Biden she believes he should drop out.
