Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says she has not spoken to President Joe Biden in roughly two weeks — since after he dropped out of the 2024 race.
During an interview on CNN on Monday night, the California Democrat was asked, “Have you spoken to President Biden since he dropped out?”
“No, I haven’t not,” she responded.
Journalist Dana Bash asked, “Do you hope to?”
“Yes, I hope to,” Pelosi said.
Bash asked, “Is everything OK with your relationship?”
“You’d have to ask him, but I hope so,” the former speaker responded. “But he knows… I have loved Joe Biden and respected him for over 40 years…I think he has made one of the biggest contributions to our country in the shortest period of time.”

Pelosi was reportedly influential in getting Biden to end his re-election bid amid concerns about his age and ability to win the general election in November.
However, she insists that she engaged in the effort only because she was concerned former President Donald Trump would win in November, and that it was not about the 46th president.
Speaking to CBS News’ Leslie Stahl over the weekend, Pelosi said Biden is “such a consequential President of the United States, a Mount Rushmore kind of President of the United States.”
Stahl asked, “Are you really saying that he belongs up there on Mt. Rushmore? Lincoln and Joe Biden?”
Pelosi answered, “But, you got Teddy Roosevelt up there, and he’s wonderful. I don’t say take him down, but you can add Biden.”
