It may not have started the way Elon Musk would have liked, but his interview with former President Donald Trump made history.
That history was made through the number of listeners who logged on to hear the two talk on X’s “Spaces.”
The evening went so well Musk, who has endorsed Trump, invited Vice President Kamala Harris to the mic.
“Happy to host Kamala on an X Spaces too,” Musk posted on X, formerly Twitter, the social platform he owns.
Musk boasted the number of listeners on X, too.
“Combined views of the conversation with @realDonaldTrump and subsequent discussion by other accounts now ~1 billion,” Musk wrote at 2:43 a.m. ET Tuesday.
Musk foreshadowed those numbers when he posted, “It will blow up even more tomorrow,” after the interview.
Musk apparently knew the interview would be a hit, especially with it being at odds with mainstream media.
“Almost all of legacy media will trash the Trump conversation, thus driving total listeners probably past 200+ million,” Musk wrote on X.
The audience isn’t the only facet of this event to have big numbers.
At around 11 a.m, Musk touted an increase in downloads for the X app.
