Former President Donald Trump has his transition team in place should he win back the White House.
Trump made the announcement regarding the team, which will direct policy and personnel efforts in anticipation of a Trump win, Friday, The Hill reported.
Two campaign donors will serve as co-chairpersons.
They are Linda McMahon, who served as head of the Small Business Administration during Trump’s first term, and businessman Howard Lutnick, head of the Cantor Fitzgerald, a financial firm.
Trump’s running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), will be an honorary chair, along with sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.
“The 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again is a forward-looking agenda that will deliver safety, prosperity and freedom for the American people. My administration will deliver on these bold promises,” Trump said in a statement. “We will restore strength, competence and common sense to the Oval Office. I have absolute confidence the Trump-Vance Administration will be ready to govern effectively on Day One.”
The formation of a transition team before the election is decided is standard since it allows the winner to hit the ground running.
Lutnick and McMahon have been ardent supporters of Trump.
Lutnick hosted a fundraiser for Trump earlier this month, while . McMahon has led the pro-Trump think tank America First Policy Institute.
Trump Jr. wants a say in
who might serve in a second Trump administration.
He said he wants “veto power” to rule out those he does not trust.
“I want to block the liars. I want to block the guys that are, you know, pretending they’re with you. I just want to block the bad actors. I just want to be a block. That’s it,” he said.
