A long-awaited interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will take place Thursday on CNN.

This will mark the Democratic nominees’ first joint interview in the hopes of maintaining the momentum from the Democratic National Convention held last week, per CNN.

Dana Bash, CNN’s chief political correspondent and anchor, will conduct the interview, which will air at 9 p.m. Thursday.

The interview is a long time coming as it marks the first time Harris has done an in-depth interview since President Joe Biden endorsed her on July 21 after dropping out of the presidential race.

The lack of an interview or press conference has led to criticism toward Harris from Republicans.

In particular, Ohio Sen. and Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance has been vocal about the lack of any interaction between Harris and the media.

“I think it’s really disgraceful, both for Kamala Harris but also for a lot of the American media that participates in this stuff, to have a person who has been the presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party for 17 days and refuses to take a single question from the American media,” Vance said earlier this month.

Harris also sat for three interviews last week with content creators and influencers, a hint that the Harris campaign believes voters also get their information from non-traditional sources — especially younger voters.
