MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski lashed out Friday at people who think Vice President Kamala Harris fails to speak articulately about policy.
Former President Donald Trump spoke at the Detroit Economic Club Thursday, where he announced support for renegotiating the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade pact and proposed making interest on car loans tax-deductible. Brzezinski claimed that Trump’s speech “made no sense” before turning on the former president’s supporters for “lying to” themselves that he is more articulate.
“I would not grace that with the phrase ‘word salad.’ That just made no sense. And I just don’t understand anybody right now who could watch him talk and say, ‘Yeah, he definitely makes more sense than the alternative,’” Brzezinski said. “Like, all these people, I was watching the news yesterday, flipping around and hearing hosts whining, ‘Kamala Harris needs to do more.’ Okay, more than everything she’s doing? Fine, give me your ideas. But what? I mean, watch the alternative for two minutes. Grocery, the stomach is speaking? Elon’s rocket ships. Cylinders, circles, beautiful circles. What the hell? I mean, that’s like an epic weave that he talks about, but his weaves aren’t brilliant. You know what he is doing? He is getting through the moment as an aging bullshit artist, okay?”

“Let me tell you something. There is something wrong with people who can watch that and think the alternative, Kamala Harris, isn’t more articulate, more prepared, more experienced, more able to — and when I say articulate, that means actually deliver a message to the American people on a certain policy,” Brzezinski said. “You know she can.”
Harris has backed away from left-wing positions on health care, gun control, illegal immigration and fracking that she held during her campaign for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president., She also struggled pressed on those policy changes during a Monday “60 Minutes” interview.
“If you can’t believe it, and this is your choice, you’re lying to yourself and you’re going to ruin this country,” Brzezinski continued. “That’s your — it’s going to be on you. It’s going to be on you. Because there’s no way you can watch that or any of his speeches and get anything out of it except for a hateful, racist, bigoted, tired, aging, branding — I wouldn’t say genius — branding-obsessed narcissist.”
The vice president has also been vague on many policy details during her campaign. Her campaign posted an “issues” section on its website, but it appeared to use code from the reelection site for President Joe Biden.
