When former first lady Melania Trump shows up at an event, people take notice.
That is exactly what happened Sunday when she was greeted with thunderous applause and cheers at her husband’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Melania Trump’s appearance at the rally was a surprise as she was not advertised as one of the speakers at the rally to bolster former President Donald Trump’s run for the White House, per The Hill.
She spoke for about five minutes before introducing her husband and talked about the decrease in quality of life in the U.S.
“Let us charge together with a shared vision that builds on American greatness,” Melania Trump said. “Let’s seize this moment and create a country for tomorrow — the future that we deserve.”
After her speech, she introduced her husband.
The former first lady’s appearance was a surprise as she has stayed off the campaign trail for the most part. This was actually the first rally she attended during this election run.
She attended the Republican National Convention in July, but did not speak.
Melania Trump has also been on the interview circuit in anticipation of her memoir, “Melania.”
