President-elect Donald Trump announced several key appointments for his upcoming administration Tuesday, including the commissioner of the IRS and the head of the Small Business Administration.

Trump stated that his nominees possess the necessary expertise and dedication to foster economic prosperity.

Trump announced his intent to nominate Dr. Michael William Faulkender as the deputy secretary of the Treasury. Faulkender is a noted economist and academic. His resume includes a stint as the assistant secretary for Economic Policy during Trump’s first administration in addition to current roles at the University of Maryland and the America First Policy Institute.

Former Republican U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler of Georgia is also tapped to lead the Small Business Administration (SBA). Loeffler has an extensive career in finance and technology and is expected to drive initiatives that bolster small businesses and minimize government waste.

Former Republican U.S. Rep. Billy Long of Missouri is also nominated as the commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Long, renowned for his business acumen in real estate and his legislative experience, is tasked with enhancing IRS service delivery and compliance initiatives.

David A. Warrington is appointed as assistant to the president and counsel to the president. Warrington, Trump’s former campaign legal counsel and a respected conservative figure, will oversee the Office of White House Counsel.

William Joseph McGinley has been named counsel to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he will collaborate with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to streamline government operations and reduce regulatory burdens. Trump said McGinley will focus on reducing excessive regulations, curbing government spending, and eliminating waste, while working closely with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to streamline federal operations.

Trump has nominated Gail Slater as assistant attorney general for the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. Trump said that under Slater’s leadership, the DOJ will continue to combat the overwhelming market dominance of Big Tech, which he claims has suppressed competition and infringed on consumer rights.

Trump also heaped praises on and congratulated Frank Bisignano and tapped him to be commissioner of the Social Security Administration. Bisignano’s experience includes leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and Fiserv Corporation.

It was previously reported that Trump appointed Monica Crowley to three key diplomatic positions: U.S. ambassador, assistant secretary of State, and chief of protocol. Trump announced on Truth Social that Crowley, a seasoned public servant and media figure, will lead U.S. representation at major international events such as America’s 250th Birthday, the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Trump nominated Paul Atkins earlier Tuesday as the next chairman of the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC). Trump lauded Atkins, CEO of Patomak Global Partners, as a “proven leader” committed to fostering innovative and responsive capital markets.
