President Joe Biden didn’t drone on about the mysterious objects flying above the New Jersey area, but did comment, saying there is “no sense of danger.”
Biden broke his silence on the matter by talking to reporters Tuesday at the White House.
“Nothing nefarious apparently. But they’re checking it all out … there’s a lot of drones authorized up there,” Biden said, per C-SPAN. “I think one started and they all got, everybody wanted to get in the deal. But I’m – we’re following it closely. So far no sense of a danger.”
There have been a multitude of drone sightings in New York and New Jersey, Newsweek reported.
This has led to many questioning where the drones came from and why they are in the sky and who is controlling them. Answers to the questions have not been forthcoming.
The sightings are being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement official.
Some of the flyovers have been close to critical infrastructure sites and military installations.
John Kirby, national security spokesperson, spoke about the issue Monday.
“We assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and even stars that were mistakenly reported as drones,” he said.
