Vice President and former Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, is making waves on social media after appearing to botch the Pledge of Allegiance.

In a clip posted to X, it shows Harris leading the Senate floor in the Pledge of Allegiance, however, onlookers were quick to point out Harris completely flubbed the beginning, seemingly skipping over her words.

Reactions to the gaff were swift, with thousands of social media users seeing the clip in a matter of minutes, sparking a response from “Grok,” the platform’s AI Chatbot who issued the following comment on Harris’ mistake:

“Vice President Kamala Harris was leading the Pledge of Allegiance on the Senate floor when social media users reported she made a mistake. Various posts highlighted her alleged error, describing it with terms like ‘flubbed’ or ‘botched.’ While these posts criticized the incident, there lacks factual confirmation of the specifics or extent of the error.”

However, the note went largely ignored as X users noted the video clearly shows that Harris did, in fact, botch the Pledge of Allegiance.

This is who was almost President.

Can you imagine having 4 years of that? We dodged the biggest bullet!

— Sarah Smith (@Defundmedianow) January 3, 2025

This is who would have been our president for the next 4 years. A woman who doesn't even know the words to the Pledge of Allegiance in America. Let that sink in.

Such an embarrassment to the people of the United States!!

THIS is who could’ve been our President…

America would’ve literally collapsed.

According to The Hill, Harris was opening the Senate for the 119th Congress, swearing in members as the GOP prepares to take control of the upper chamber.
