Pope Francis remained in Rome’s Gemelli Hospital Sunday as the Vatican press office released a photo of the pontiff in a private chapel in the hospital.
The photo shows the pope in a wheelchair in front of an altar and provides a glimpse of him for the first time since entering the hospital Feb. 14 when the 88-year-old was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, per ABC News.

The Holy See, the Vatican’s press office, said the private chapel of the pope’s 10-floor apartment in Gemelli. The pope had did not have visitors on Sunday.
The Vatican revealed the pope has had motor physiotherapy and “benefitted from it,” the Vatican reported.
Sunday marked the pope’s 31st day in a hospital.
The Vatican added he did “a bit of work.”
Many remarked on such social media the similarity between the photo release Sunday of Pope Francis and one taken of John Paul II in 2005 shortly before he died.
