It took just two months to happen — a convicted criminal from Alabama whose sentence was commuted by former President Joe Biden is back in jail.

Willie Frank Peterson, 52, was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and three firearms-related offenses, per Fox News.

The arrest took place Monday in Dothan, Alabama, according to wtvy.com.

Peterson was originally convicted of conspiracy to distribute cocaine in 2023. He was sentenced to six years and three months in jail, Fox reported. His sentence started on Sept. 13, 2023, per Fox.

He was then released from prison after Biden commuted the sentences of nearly 2,500 inmates. Most of those were convicted of non-violent drug offenses.

“Today’s clemency action provides relief for individuals who received lengthy sentences based on discredited distinctions between crack and powder cocaine, as well as outdated sentencing enhancements for drug crimes,” Biden said then.

He added, “With this action, I have now issued more individual pardons and commutations than any president in U.S. history.”

Biden took the waning days of his presidency to commute the sentences of several criminals.

Dec. 12, the day Biden commuted the sentences for 1,500 people and pardoned 39, is labeled the “largest single-day grant of clemency.”

Peterson posted bond on Monday’s charges, wtvy.com reported.

Many took to X to lambast Biden for his leniency:

Hey, @JoeBiden, GREAT JOB on Willie Frank Peterson (who you granted CLEMENCY for), was re-arrested on drug and firearms charges! Another Biden success story.

The audacity of Biden’s clemency circus is a slap in the face to every law-abiding American. Willie Frank Peterson, a hardened drug felon, gets a golden ticket from Sleepy Joe, only to be nabbed again in Dothan with cocaine, hydrocodone, marijuana, and illegal firepower. This…
