Podcast host Joe Rogan couldn’t stop laughing Friday on his show at a graph by Media Matters labeling him as “right wing.”

In a new study, Media Matters assessed the audience sizes of popular online shows, finding that most favored content is “overwhelmingly right-leaning.” While discussing the downfall of corporate media with YouTuber Chris Williamson on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan said “anything masculine” is automatically labeled as “right wing.”

The show host then asked Williamson if he had seen the graph from Media Matters’ study, labeling him on the right.

“Yes, you can’t like fast cars. You’re not allowed to. You’re not even allowed to like Tesla’s anymore. Which are the fastest cars,” Rogan said. “You’re a misogynist. You’re probably racist. Maybe a Nazi. I’m gonna put a swastika in your car just to let everybody know. There was some really fucking stupid graph that someone put up of how right-wing social media and new media people dominate.”

Williamson could then be heard asking Rogan’s producer Jamie Vernon to pull up the chart on the screen so they could look at the names listed.

“I was at the top of the list, and I feel like the way Caitlyn Jenner must have felt like when she won woman of the year. Like, so quick, I got to the top of the list,” Rogan said. “I’m not even right-wing. Just cause I support Trump. I support him over the rest of the fucking nonsense that was going on when you’re trying to push through someone without even a primary.”

“I’m number one, bitch. It’s kind of funny, like they’re putting Theo Vaughn,” Rogan added. “Lex Friedman, that’s hilarious to put him in there.”

The two continued to call out names and shows like British journalist Piers Morgan, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe and comedy podcast “Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant with Akaash Singh.”

Media Matters’ study found that 42% of the 191 “right-leaning” shows it examined fell under comedy, entertainment, sports, or other supposedly nonpolitical categories. Additionally, the study claimed that 72% of the 111 “supposedly nonpolitical shows” had a “right-leaning” ideological bent, according to the outlet.

“Is it just a judgment criteria that they’re judging shows that aren’t right-wing as right-wing, or is it genuinely that for some reason the left is struggling to make progress in independent media?” Williamson asked.

“Well, they’re struggling to make progress in independent media, for sure. They’re trying to figure out why. They’re trying to figure out why these, what they are calling right-wing. I think if you looked at all my positions, I think way more of them were left-wing than right-wing,” Rogan said.

Rogan has previously said that he does not identify as either a Republican or a Democrat. On a past episode of his podcast, he’s described himself as an American who finds himself agreeing with “a lot of things” from both sides of the political spectrum.

Democrats have struggled to reach new audiences on platforms like YouTube and podcasts following their November defeat and the loss of key voting blocs they once dominated.

Recently, Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom launched a new podcast aimed at engaging conservatives, featuring guests like TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon in its early episodes. Despite these efforts, Democrats continue to face record-low favorability ratings and ongoing challenges in uniting their base under a clear, cohesive message.
