President Donald Trump thinks it’s time for Russia to broker a deal with Ukraine, not attack.

But Russia keeps striking Kyiv, much to the president’s dismay.

“I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir [Putin], STOP! 5,000 soldiers a week are dying. Let’s get the peace deal DONE,” Trump wrote on social media.

On Thursday, Russia’s attack on Ukraine let at least 10 dead and injured 90 more, per a report on Fox News.

The president was hopeful for peace in that conflict this week. Once a deal is reached, they would be able to “start to do big business with the United States of America…”

In another post on social media, Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin “to get moving” toward peace, saying “too many people are dying” in the “senseless” war.

On April 11, in another Truth Social post, Trump urged Russia “to get moving” toward ending the war, lamenting that “too many people are dying” in a war that he described as “senseless.”

“Russia has to get moving. Too many people ere DYING, thousands a week, in a terrible and senseless war – A war that should have never happened, and wouldn’t have happened, if I were President!!!” Trump wrote.

Even officials with the Trump administration have held meetings with Putin,no deal has been reached. Russia and Ukraine have been at war since 2022.

Vice President JD Vance weighed in on Wednesday by giving the sides an ultimatum.

“We’ve issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and Ukrainians, and it’s time for them to either say yes or for the U.S. to walk away from this process. We’ve engaged in an extraordinary amount of diplomacy, of on-the-ground work,” Vance said.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio concurred on April 18 when he said Trump was close to saying, “We’re done.”

Putin was not the only leader being chastised by Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said an “inflammatory” statement that Trump believed was “very harmful” to peace efforts.

Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not recognize Russian control of Crimea, which was taken in 2014. Trump said it was “not even up for discussion.”
