White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller quarreled with a reporter Monday as he suggested that President Donald Trump’s administration is targeting mothers and their young children.

A reporter suggested that the administration is wasting their resources by deporting three illegal immigrant mothers, who were accompanied by their U.S. citizen children, to Honduras. Miller challenged him on how many illegal immigrants should be allowed to remain in the U.S. after being allowed in by former President Joe Biden’s administration.

“I’m not disputing any of the facts around the case of these women who were deported and removed with their kids, but, given that you’re looking for more money from Congress, [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] said they need more beds, they need more money. Is it the best use of the administration’s resources to be going after moms of young kids basically?” the reporter asked.

“Do you yourself have an opinion on this subject?” Miller asked sarcastically. “Well, what percentage, let’s just pick, at an even number of let’s say, 10 million illegal aliens. I think it’s closer to 20 million, let’s say he released 10 million illegal aliens into the country over the last 4 years. What percentage do you think we should let stay here of those 10 million? … Is it your view that if a Democrat president allows 10, 15 [or] 20 million illegals into the country, they should stay here forever and for all of life?”

As the reporter stumbled on the question, Miller said that all illegal immigrants who flooded into the U.S. during the previous administration must be deported.

“It’s a crazy thing to even ask,” Miller continued. “You think we should give administrative amnesty to some subset of the illegals that Biden [let in] … Here’s how we’re prioritizing it. ICE is gonna continue to focus on raids against high criminal aliens. We’re going to use the entire force and power of the federal government to get them all home. Many will also choose to leave voluntarily and take advantage of the [Customs and Border Protection] home app. But we’re not gonna ask taxpayers to subsidize the presence of a single illegal alien in this country.”

The corporate media accused the Trump administration of deporting three U.S. citizens ages 7, 4 and 2, which would be a violation of the 14th Amendment. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and border czar Tom Homan both said that although the children have a right to be in the U.S., the families made the personal decision to have them accompany their mothers to Honduras.

Miller further criticized catch and release, a Biden-era policy that has since been scrapped by the Trump administration. He said it is impossible to determine which illegal immigrants are endangerments or not, and thus none should be trusted to be released into the U.S.

Homan said Monday that he is satisfied with the 139,000 deportations that have occurred thus far since Jan. 20, and praised the record low drop in border encounters since Trump took office. Just one month into Trump’s second term, border encounters reached the lowest numbers since the 1960s.
