A security scare at Chicago O’Hare International Airport occurred Saturday after a DoorDash driver drove into unauthorized secured areas before being caught.

Chicago police said to NBC Chicago that the unnamed 36-year-old driver had “accidentally drove into an unauthorized secured area within O’Hare Airport” before noon Saturday.

“Police conducted a preliminary investigation, which revealed this was a mistake,” the department told the outlet.

Video footage captured by ABC7 Chicago showed automobiles surrounding a red Mustang on the airport’s tarmac, with United Airlines planes also seen nearby.

Authorities said no charges or citations would be placed against the DoorDash driver as the incident is deemed as a mistake, according to CBS News.

The incident comes shortly after 53-year-old Besnik Ismajlaj reportedly bypassed O’Hare Airport’s security with a gun on April 15, according to ABC7 Chicago. Video footage and bodycam clips from officers show the moment Ismajlaj was arrested by officials while sitting and waiting for his flight to take off.

Transportation Security Administration officials said the weapon was discovered in a bag after a security screening shortly after noon, according to ABC7 Chicago. While TSA waited for police and kept the bag inside the X-ray machine, Ismajlaj allegedly grabbed the bag and ran into the terminal, the outlet reported.

Both Terminals 1 and 2 at the airport were placed under suspension while TSA and Chicago police searched for the 53-year-old, eventually finding him and placing him in custody.

According to ABC7 Chicago, officials charged Ismajlaj with a misdemeanor for allegedly bringing a loaded concealed firearm onto a plane.
