Will Pierce, the former executive director for Draft Biden 2016, condemned former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday for just speaking up now after spending years lying to the American people.

Jean-Pierre announced she is leaving the Democrat Party over its “betrayal” of former President Joe Biden and the future publication of her book, “Independent,” that is set to be released in October. Pierce told “Fox & Friends” that Jean-Pierre remained silent until she was able to profit off of a book deal.

“If this was so important to Karine Jean-Pierre, why didn’t she come out years ago or even months ago? This is a lady who sat here day in and day out, sat there at the podium and lied to the American people,” Pierce said. “Instead now she’s coming out just for a book deal? It’s just terrible.”

WATCH:

Jean-Pierre repeatedly told the public that Biden was so healthy and cognitively strong that even she could not “keep up with him.” She would aggressively dodge any questions that pointed to evidence of Biden’s decline and called videos that corroborated people’s concerns about his health as “cheap fakes,” which suggested that people purposely edited them to make the president seem confused.

Pierce, who left the Democrat Party in 2020, said that there were internal discussions in the administration about whether Biden was up for running the country, though they remained silent until it became apparent to the public that he could not run for reelection. He said that Jean-Pierre knew about all of these concerns, but is only willing to speak out against the Democrat Party when it is “safe” to.

“Let’s take it a step further, Lawrence [Jones], real quick, okay? So, eventually the Democrat Party, the administration, decided that Biden couldn’t run and they put [former Vice President] Kamala Harris up,” Pierce said. “That means all along when they knew what was going on, they even knew themselves that she was not up for the job. I, myself, in 2020 personally saw [behind the scenes] issues with Biden and talk internally as well early on in the administration saying, ‘is he up for the job?’”

“And you know what? I left the party before it was trending. Karine is just doing it when it’s safe right now,” Pierce continued.

During a Feb. 6, 2024, briefing, Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about Biden telling a story about a French president who died in 1996. The then-press secretary quickly dismissed the question by saying she refused to “go down that rabbit hole.”

Jean-Pierre also assured reporters that there had never been any coverup of Biden’s health following his disastrous performance at the 2024 presidential debate in June, and attempted to tell the public that the president simply had a “bad night.” After spending years trying to discredit concerns about Biden’s health, Democrat lawmakers began calling on the then-president to drop out of the 2024 race after the American people witnessed his debate performance.

Former White House colleagues of Jean-Pierre have unloaded on her over her book deal, with one person telling Politico that the upcoming book and her exit from the Democrat Party is a “grift.”
